About us

Everyone belongs on the ice.

We’ve been running outdoor hockey for kids in Etobicoke since 1969. COHL (formerly OPHL) is for beginners and intermediate players aged 6-12 who want to learn the game, make friends, and have fun on the ice. Even kids who’ve never played before are welcome!

Our Core Values

01

Sportsmanship

We teach kids to play fair and respect their teammates and opponents.

02

Teamwork

Hockey’s a team sport. Kids learn to work together and look out for each other.

03

Skill Development

We focus on skating, puck handling, and game basics in a low-pressure setting.

Why Choose COHL?

COHL has been around since 1969, and we keep things simple: get kids outside, teach them hockey, and let them have a good time. We’re not a competitive league – we’re here for kids who are just starting out or still learning the basics. Parents often tell us their kids look forward to Sunday mornings all week.

Outdoor Experience

We play at Martingrove outdoor rink. There’s something special about hockey outside in the winter.

Community Spirit

Parents hang out, kids make friends. It’s a neighbourhood thing.

Volunteer Coaching

Our coaches are local parents and hockey lovers who volunteer their time to help kids learn.
